Did you know that although the common form of osteoarthritis is caused by wear and tear of the cartilage around joints there can also be inflammation around the joints.
There are groups of foods known to exacerbate inflammation so if you want to reduce your joint pain try reducing your consumption of these foods.
They are:
sugar (ie in flavoured coffees, fizzy drinks, sweets, cakes etc)
refined carbohydrates ie white bread, crisps, white rice
trans fats such as those found in processed foods eg fried foods, frozen pizzas, baked goods such as biscuits and pies and ready meals.
I work on the basis that if it comes in a packet, box or jar it is likely to have ingredients that cause inflammation which may possibly make my pain worse. It doesn’t mean to say I don’t eat them but it means I don’t eat them often.
Worth considering I think?
