WHY PERSONAL TRAINING?
Most people simply want to lose some weight and increase their fitness or even train for an upcoming event. However the benefits of increased strength, improved flexibility, improved blood flow to the capillaries and increasing lung capacity cannot be over emphasised. Simply put it is the key ingredient to your quality of life as you get older.
THE TRAINER WHO CARES
I understand that getting fit, losing weight and gaining muscle can be challenging for many people so I take your fitness goals seriously. And… by the way, not everyone's goal is to gain muscle, it may be to simply move more easily, so my goal is to help you overcome hurdles in order to reach your goals.
Each program is designed specifically for each client. My approach is usually one of easing you into training rather than the high intensity “Boot Camp” approach, especially if you are new to physical fitness. However, if you prefer higher intensity training we can go there as well.
EXTENSIVE TRAINING EXPERIENCE
I am a freelance Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, working in Cyprus, with over 10 years experience.
I have a Level 3 Certificate of Personal Training from YMCA Qualifications (CYQ) and an ISSA Certified Fitness Instructor. I also hold a Level 2 Coaching Certificate from Precision Nutrition. I'm also a Level 1 Animal Flow Instructor.
I am Pre and Post Natal certified, a specialist in Fitness for Older Adults. I'm currently learning how to coach women through Menopause
YOUR SUCCESS IS MY GOAL
I understand that adapting to new fitness habits is difficult and it is often a struggle to maintain these new habits.
My aim is to change your view on fitness, so that it becomes a part of your daily living that you enjoy. My method will be to work with you to help you visualise, create and achieve your goals no matter how modest or ambitious they may be.
I strongly believe that if you practice healthy habits, you will be able to obtain a healthy lifestyle.
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME
Originally from the UK, I was living in Dubai for 24 years working as a Personal Assistant, then a Relocation Consultant. Fourteen years ago I decided to make a career change and follow my love of fitness training with the goal of becoming a Personal Trainer. I have now moved to Cyprus and am living in the Kouklia, Paphos area.
I am now 64 and have been a bit of gym bunny for over 37 years. From a personal perspective, nowadays I mainly train using body weight only and I practice yoga, Pilates and Animal Flow which are all complimented by cardiovascular work in the gym or walking.
I enjoy training people of all ages and levels of fitness. However, my strength lies in older adults or with those individuals who are just starting out or returning to a healthy lifestyle and prefer to exercise at a pace that suits them. I believe that exercising regularly and following a healthy eating regime are the key to a healthy, active and independent later-life and I’m keen to encourage others to embark on an active lifestyle – it’s never too late to start!!
I have experience at training people in different environments such as the gym, park, beach or home. Whatever suits your needs in terms of timetable and personal preference. If you like to workout with a friend/friends I can offer small group sessions as well as one-to-one sessions.
However, it's not all about physical exercise. I am a big believer in "we are what we eat" and with that in mind, in 2020 I qualified as a Level 2 Precision Nutrition coach and I believe in combining exercise with the correct nutrition approach.

This week I am enjoying my 400th personal training session with Karen and that just says it all: I thoroughly enjoy training with Karen. She is dedicated, always prepared and inspiring to exercise with.

I started training with Karen in February 2016. I am a long term sufferer of Fibromyalgia and started with Karen after attending a workshop that stressed on the importance of muscle training for managing Fibromyalgia.
It was with a lot of trepidation that I started with Karen. I had earlier worked with a Trainer who pushed me so much that I ended up in more pain. Another trainer focused on weight loss and insisted on incremental repetitions and increased weights.
From the beginning Karen was different. She admitted that she hadn’t worked with Fibromites before but she did her research and I benefitted from it! She developed a program that would push me a little more than what I could do – without any negative repercussions. She empathises with me on my “high pain” days and pushes me on the days when I am relatively pain free. She is gentle but firm, and her “well done!” is high praise! My stamina and strength has improved and with improved muscle toning – my pain is lower.
I can now carry my shopping bags easily and a Shopping Mall visit is not the horror it once was! Thank you Karen!”
